looks like there's a multi media collaboration coming into SL. not sure how long they've been working on it, the promo just showed up on the creator's website yesterday. finding any mention of Shivering Truth or the promo was purely by happenstance flitting about Adult Swim's huge playlist.

who exactly Adult Swim is or what they do is anyone's guess. i've heard the name but i'm not a follower. apparently, from doing a minimum search, they're a big deal legit TV channel inside the Warner umbrella. oddball comedic parody productions seems to be their thing. Eric Andre and Rick and Morty are in their portfolio if that gives you any hints. from what i've seen their brand of craziness wouldn't clash all that much with SL's craziness.

Shivering Truth (Adult Swim's stop motion puppetry show) is coming back for its second season so what better way to promote it than to premier its first and second episodes in a Second Life video stream? i ask you? what could be a better fit?

well, if no one told Adult Swim, whose audience viewing numbers rank in the millions, the chance of debuting your show to more than 40 people reliably on SL will be sketchy at best. the way it's told, and as far as i can guess, Adult Swim will attempt to stream a few Shivering Truth episodes on a big Media on Prim screen inside a build on an island region within SL. are they serious?

the build in SL looks quite nice actually. i haven't been there, the above shot's from SL's YouTube channel. access will be available this Friday the 8th of May starting at 6:30pm eastern time with the show to begin at 7:00pm. repeat showings will be held every hour until midnight.

anyone interested in occupying the voluminous space will need a brand new viewer capable of rezzing the video stream. just why, once again, is anyone's guess. it seems similar to the regular viewer and Firestorm in video playback. i guess streaming is a different kettle of fish even tho i couldn't get any live streaming to work for the examples i tried. and if they want me to plug up my system with Chrome, good luck to anyone who's not got it up and running before they land "on the scene". [addendum: tested on a Win10 laptop with updated Chrome and streaming works]

i will definitely try getting in. just how well it goes is, from my experience, will be a complete disaster. couldn't anyone come up with a BETTER PLAN? like, if we can have 50,000 concurrent users all playing at once, why can't we have more than 40 avatars enjoying a similar experience?

how about providing a downloadable video screen available to anyone who wants one to set up anywhere they want and allow streaming to each and every screen? streaming technology is not my bag so if it's not possible then hey, someone has to explain why. i say streaming to ONE screen is downright retarded. if they want to access the greatest number of residents then the only way to do it is to distribute to numerous devices/screens/scripted prims. wouldn't each screen be like a separate browser accessing a live stream off a web server?

what kind of voodoo is this streaming? who knows? anything has to be better than the restrictions inherent to a bunch of avatars TRYING to TP  to a single laggy region. come on people. we're better than that aren't we?
