Media on a Prim

Flickr is now my defacto goto site for any new fashion coming into SL. and, since the event hosting Adult Swim seemed to have a proper Media on a Prim (MoaP) implementation i thought i'd put together something so i could view my Flickr contacts on my land inworld.

Well, if that didn't work a charm!

Simple as pi. Build a prim, select a face you'd like to use as the window, change the Material button to Media and fill in the Home page, tweak the mapping et voila, fully interactive webpage on a prim.

one thing i needed from the inworld situation that my Firefox browser couldn't supply, was the ability to script in a rotation into the MoaP so i could view the odd sideways shots as they were meant to be viewed. head on top, feet on the ground.

i'm not a big fan of those sideways shots, not wanting to crane my neck, but i can understand the impetus behind doing them that way. so with a simple click on one of the prim's faces i managed to flip the screen vertically and view them in all the photographer's pixel glory. and, once the prim rotates the symbol i used to indicate rotation changes to reflect the new orientation.
