Illusory Pursuit

i suppose the lesson here is: i shouldn't wander to far afield when it comes to buying from unknown SL designers. case in point are the above images illustrating the most perfect bikini model i've yet to encounter, even among the best of SL. and, the seller perms it modifiable.so, where does this all go sideways?

first hint was the friendly consumer's advise i gave her was responded to as if she'd committed to the changes i suggested but when i looked again, they weren't acted upon at all. okay, maybe she was just being  nice. it might be another aspect of her business she's learning.

as time moved on, wearing only the bikini that whole time, i'd become overty obsessed with it. i couldn't find enough places to post my butt shots. filling my viewer screen with my pleasure couldn't be refused. i was a mere servant to my desires. i aquiesced without remorse. you must admit, the shape it gives to my sweet sweet ass is to die for.

after adoring its affects on me i started exploring it further to know just how it was all put together. to my surprise, the seller wasn't the designer. i thought, okay just a generic full perm design the seller had texture modded. nothing alarming there. but, when i checked the perms...whoa, it was a full perm copy! meaning i could "Transfer" (ie. Sell) the item. i better check back with the seller. that's gotta be a mistake.

well, two or three IM exchanges later and i was left in silence without getting any confirmation as to just what were the perms she intended or, indeed, was authorized to sell it with. normally, fullperm designers have their own contract the seller is bound to follow. most set a minimum retail price, perms allowed, and the like. granting a seller the ability to sell a design with full perm rights in it is unheard of.

informing the seller (through an IM) that i indeed purchased a full perm item from her didn't prompt any direct communication. approaching the issue on another level i noticed the seller's marketplace page for the bikini (where i had originally purchased mine) was taken down. returning to her store, the vendor for that very same bikini was gone. i IMd the seller again. silence.

so i wrote the original designer, QueensDesign. no response. another day, another IM. no response. why doesn't she want to answer me? it couldn't be a language issue, not with google translate. i'm assuming something's amiss somewhere.

i can't figure it out. post what you think. i'm at a loss.

i'd absolutely love to retail this item. if the original designer doesn't want to sell me what she sold to the reseller but i have a full perm copy am i bound to any agreement? the perms are CMT. do i need the designer's okay? and if so, how much trouble do i have to go through before the designer responds let alone to grant me the right to copy and resell.

argh!

it IS so beautiful tho. the designer "should" be happy to have anyone retail their work. should i give up the prospect if the designer (technically) refuses to offer me full perm rights? me thinks the designer isn't the original designer. let me do some more digging....
